How to renumber Beams in STAAD.Pro?

When we model the structure, the nodes, and elements gets a numerical identity. If these numbers are in sequence, it can be lot easier to find the members faster result interpretation can be done. Speed of work can be increased if we know that the elements are numbered in sequential order. Here is a way to do so:

For numbering Beams as shown below.

For beams in X direction :

Select all beams of one floor level of structure.
Take it to new view by right click and selecting new view.
Select beams parallel to X.
Go to geometry → renumber → members.
Press yes to the window that asks for confirmation.
Give first number from where you want to start your numbering of beams.
Select available sort criteria in following sequence

- - Z co-ordinate
  - X co-ordinate
  - Click Accept.

You have done it for beams in x direction.

For beams in Z direction :

Select beams parallel to Z.
Follow steps from 4 to 6.
Select available sort criteria in following sequence

- - X co-ordinate
  - Z co-ordinate (descending) (it can be done by double click selected Z criteria.)
  - Click Accept.

you have done it for one floor level.
Repeat the same procedure for every floor level.
